Samuel Merrin Interview Series: John Mayer

Hello all. I recently sat down with a figure I've been meaning to talk to for decades. He's a legend of his own time, a musician, an artist, a stunning symbol of shining humanity. One man, two names: John Mayer.

Samuel Merrin: Welcome, John. Thanks for being on the show.

John Mayer: Thank you, Samuel. Thank you.

Samuel Merrin: John, may I ask you a question?

John Mayer: Shoot.

Samuel Merrin: Where does the talent come from?

John Mayer: I don't know, I guess my parents.

Samuel Merrin: So your parents have talent.

John Mayer: Yes, they're very talented.

Samuel Merrin: So, why is it that I have never heard of them, or heard them sing?

John Mayer: Well, they're not...they're not active performers.

Samuel Merrin: But shouldn't I have heard of their talent, if they are so full of talent?

John Mayer: I don't know.

Samuel Merrin: So what you're saying is that your parents are talentless.

John Mayer: I think we both know that's not what I said.

Samuel Merrin: I accept your apology.
